GRADE 3-5 PYP SPANISH TEACHER

Who I am as a teacher:

  • I am a bilingual, immigrant teacher who believes the languages we speak and the cultures we learn from can shape our views of the world. It can soften our hearts to empathy and expand our appreciation for every human around us.
  • I am a teacher who loves and appreciates every child who walks into my room. It is a gift and a privilege to be part of a child's day and make a difference.
  • I know firsthand that learning more than one language is crucial in a world where we are so linguistically diverse. It will open doors, it will expand our cognitive learning, and empower us to thrive socially, academically, and professionally across the world.
  • I believe every child deserves an education and content they can access within their abilities. Every child learns differently, and my job as a teacher is to help them reach their goals and cultivate a sense of pride in their own learning.
  • I love connecting and understanding my students. It creates a path to better help them as people and students. I create opportunities in my classroom to develop and strengthen our social-emotional skills.
  • I am passionate about creating fun ways to learn, to collaborate with each other, and understand why what we are learning matters.
  • I use different media and tools for students to access and show us their learning. It keeps our students engaged and excited to learn new concepts and skills.
  • I love running; it has shaped my life. I was a track athlete my entire high school and college career, and it translated to coaching high school for the last 6 years. Any sport or recreational activity guides kids to goal setting and connecting through skill learning processes. I always encourage my students to be active and be passionate about the activities they do outside of school.
  • I am a teacher who will continue to find ways to help, teach, love, and understand each student. They deserve our love and patience, and they grow in our classrooms.
