GRADE 7 AND 8 LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE AND 7A ADVISORY TEACHER

  • I'm a lifelong learner. I admit that I don't have the answers for everything- and that's okay! It makes me human and is all part of my journey towards becoming the best version of myself.
  • I am an advocate for all students regardless of gender identity, background, or experience. I recognize that my students are people first and make their experience in the classroom as fulfilling as possible.
  • I am a classroom philosopher. I push boundaries within and outside of my classroom and the books that occupy it. Where there is a story, there is always a lesson to be explored. As T.S. Eliot once said, "Do I dare disturb the universe?" Yes, yes I do.
  • I am resilient. I celebrate the ugly wins as well as the happy ones and inspire my students to do so as well. I believe that long term earning comes from experiences that makes us feel seen and vulnerable, they challenge us and that is how learning builds.
  • I am accountable. Where I hold my students responsible, I also hope they expect the same of me. I integrate myself within my classroom so that my students see me as a teacher model and never feel estranged to me. Just like them, I have days where I cannot bring 100%, but I own this by showing up and still trying my best.
