Compensation

ISM offers competitive compensation that includes salary, benefits, and leave.

ISM places all employees on the applicable salary schedule as described in the ISM Staff Compensation Plan. Teachers are placed based on experience as instructor of record in a K-12 classroom and according to established guidelines. For administrative and hourly positions, ISM assigns each position to one of five bands based on multiple considerations including scope and level of responsibility, supervisory load, required prior experience, and band placement for similar positions. All administrative and hourly employees start at step 1 for the designated band regardless of past experience.

An attractive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as retirement benefits through the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) or California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) for assignments of .75 FTE and above.

Depending on contract status and FTE percentage, leave may include personal time off, sick leave, bereavement leave, family and medical leave, elective leaves of absence, and more.
