Substitute Teachers
On an ONGOING basis, ISM seeks enthusiastic, flexible, and credentialed substitute instructors
teachers that are committed to contributing to the intellectual, social, and ethical development
of students from diverse backgrounds.
Interested candidates are encouraged to consider the following criteria prior to submitting an
application to ISM:
- All substitute teaching candidates must possess/qualify for applicable substitute teaching
credentials in the State of California.
- Substitute teaching candidates that possess Art, Drama/Performance Arts, Music, Physical
Education or Spanish Language credentials are also enthusiastically encouraged to apply!
- All substitute teaching candidates must be fluent in the English language and demonstrate
the ability to teach in this language.
- All substitute teaching candidates are asked to provide at least three professional
recommendations / references.
- Substitute teachers are hired once an interview and thorough reference check have been
conducted.
- All successful substitute teaching candidates must be fingerprinted, prior to hire, either
through the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD), the Monterey County Office of
Education (MCOE) Consortium, or the International School of Monterey.
