Substitute Teachers

On an ONGOING basis, ISM seeks enthusiastic, flexible, and credentialed substitute\teachers who are committed to contributing to the academic, social, and ethical development of students from diverse backgrounds.

Interested candidates are encouraged to consider the following criteria prior to submitting an application to ISM:

• All substitute teaching candidates must possess/qualify for applicable substitute teaching credentials in the State of California.
• Substitute teaching candidates that possess Art, Drama/Performance Arts, Music, Physical Education or Spanish Language credentials are also enthusiastically encouraged to apply!
• All substitute teaching candidates must be fluent in the English language and demonstrate the ability to teach in this language.
• All substitute teaching candidates are asked to provide at least three professional recommendations / references.
• Teachers are added to our substitute pool once a short interview and reference check have been conducted. Those who successfully complete substitute assignments remain in the pool.
• All substitute teachers must complete a criminal background check based on livescan fingerprinting before their first assignment.
