Other Ways to Support ISM
Note: The money raised is not counted toward the ISM Family Share Program budget.
For more information, please contact Plasha Will at plashawill@gmail.com
1. Support another Student
Did you know that many ISM students qualify for free and reduced lunch because of their family income level? Please consider funding one of these student’s Family Share contribution. All donations are anonymous and confidential; people in need are not identified or advised of any donation on their behalf.
2. Donate your Car
If you have a car to sell, consider making a tax deductible donation to ISM at the same time. Many organizations will donate a portion of the sales of your donated vehicle to a non-profit organization of your choice. The following are just two organizations that ISM has partnered with:
Cars 4 Causes - 1-800-766-CARE
Donate Cars USA - 1-800-269-6814
3. Donate your Tax Return
Receiving a tax return is always a pleasant surprise! Why not “play it forward” and sign your tax return over to ISM?
For more information, please contact Plasha Will at plashawill@gmail.com
4. Encourage Grandparent Support
Grandparents play a critical role in our children’s lives. Why not invite them to participate in their lives at school? Many grandparents have time, talent and financial resources that are assets that often go untapped. Currently at ISM we have grandparents who:
- Lead reading groups
- Work in the library
- Lead SEM’s
- Contribute financially
- Contribute volunteer time in community events
- Playground volunteer
- Office assistance
Do you have a parent that would like to be more involved?
5. Participate in Community Service Events
ISM has developed business partnerships with the Salinas Air Show, Big Sur Marathon, Big Sur Half Marathon and AT&T Pro Am Golf Tournament. ISM provides staff people (ISM community friends and family) for their events and in return, they pay ISM $10.00 for each hour our workers provide a service. In 2007, we earned over $5,000 for providing staffing for these community events. This is a fun way to:
- Work with fellow ISM families
- Provide a community service
- Make money for ISM
- Satisfy ISM volunteer hour requirements
