Office Supply Coordinator: Keep inventory of office supplies and reorder/purchase as needed. 2 hrs/month
Mty County Office of Ed Coordinator:  Going to Salinas 1-2 x/month to laminate and die cut, coordinating with staff on their various needs.  MCOE is on Blanco Rd in Salinas and is open until 7:00pm 3 nights per week. 2-4hrs/month
Year Book Chair/Co-chair:  Coordinate with volunteers to produce School Year Book overseeing layout, printing, costs, and distribution. Organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to work well with volunteers and manage deadlines. 30-40 hrs/year    Variable
Layouts:  Work with classroom teachers and parent volunteers to compose class pages 15 hrs/Variable
Printing Coordinator:  Work with Year Book Chair and the printer, managing costs and timelines. 20 hrs/Variable
Pictures:  Taking pictures of various school and class activities and submitting prints to Chair/Co-chair. 10-15 hrs/Variable
Science Fair Judging:  Being available to judge school science projects, offering suggestions on improvement to projects before projects are submitted to The Monterey County Science Fair. Completed Finger Printing Documents,Science and or Engineering background  10 hrs/Variable
eScrip Chair/Co-chairs:  To promote eScrip as a Fundraising tool to the greater ISM Community, communicating to families how to register for eScrip, communicating funds raised through eScrip and which stores promote eScrip.  Promotional Skills helpful, computer access 30 hrs/year, flexible and variable
Volunteers:  Volunteers needed to help with various communications tasks. Variable
School Garden League Volunteers:  Volunteers interested in Cultivating and Maintaining educational gardens at ISM for an aesthetic and or educational purpose. 3/6 hrs/month
School Site Workdays (2nd Sat of month) Site Supervisors:  Take turns being a Site Supervisor working with Lisa Burns on "To Do List", gathering needed supplies and managing volunteers. Ability to direct volunteers 6 hrs every other month
Volunteer:  Volunteer for site work crew.  Complete tasks ranging from sorting Lost and Found to picking up trash to organizing the storage room. Enthusiasm 3 hrs/month
Water/Paper Coordinator Coordinator:  To be the point person for volunteers handling the weekly Costco copy paper and weekly water Pickup.  Communicating any changes and answering any questions. Ability to communicate and coordinate with other volunteers 3 hrs/month
Water/Paper Pickup Copy Paper: Once a month pick up 4 cases of copy paper at Costco and  deliver to ISM submitting receipt for reimbursement. Must be able to lift a case of copy paper (30lbs) 3 hrs/month
Water Delivery:  Volunteer for once a month pick up 4/3 gallon empty containers, refilling with water in PG and delivering back to ISM. Must be able to lift 20 lbs 3 hrs/month
Family Association Parents/Guardians:  Get involved with ISM parents and teachers to build a community of families by:    Working with school staff to develop motivational and fun events that compliment the ISM academic program and by encouraging and coordinating family talent and effort. Attend a Family Association meeting once a month (the last Thursday of the month 6:30-8:00pm) 3-6 hrs/month
School Volunteer Coordinator Be the point person for gathering needed volunteers for various school activities, working with the Volunteer Binder Coordinator for tracking volunteer hours, working with all other coordinators/chairs (water/paper, Emergency Preparedness, Recess Coordinator, etc...) to make sure they have the needed volunteers and helping pair families with volunteer opportunities at ISM.   Organizational and communication skills.  6-10 hrs/month
Volunteer Hours Binder Coordinator Work with Volunteer Coordinator and various Chairs/Co-Chairs to insure Volunteer Hours are logged in log book.   Communication and organizational skills 3 hrs/month
Data Entry for Volunteer Hours Working with all involved in the tracking of volunteer hours, entering all hours 0n spread sheets and generating reports. Data Entry skills helpful 3-4 hrs/month
Coordinator of Bi -monthly letter to parents lacking volunteer hours Working with Volunteer Coordinator to generate letters to parents lacking volunteer hours and offering suggestions as to upcoming volunteer opportunities. Communication and organizational skills 3 hrs/month
Hot Lunch Fundraiser Food Servers needed on last Friday of month to help serve Pizza Lunch from 10:30a- 1:00p 3hrs/month
Beverage Pickup/Delivery Receive list of needed items from Hot Lunch Coordinator, shop anytime during the week and deliver bottled water and other needed beverages for the Hot Lunch Program/Snack Bar to ISM by Friday, submitting receipt for reimbursement.
Emergency Preparedness Committee Volunteer Committee:  Work with staff and parent volunteers to complete Emergency Preparedness Plan, meeting once a month. 3-5 hrs/month
Chair/Co-Chair:  Coordinate the Emergency Preparedness Program school wide, working with volunteers, teachers, staff and district emergency personnel. Leadership and organizational skill. 8 hrs/month
Room Parent Coordinator Coordinator of Room Parents:  Communicate with Room Parents school wide on updates, answer questions and be a point of contact for all room parents and information needing to be communicated.

Organization and communication skills

Ability to be on-site during school session is a benefit

Room Parents (2 required per classroom)-

Note: This is NOT the same as the in-class assistant

Room Parents Team : Work closely with second room parent and classroom teacher. Communication: Responsible for phone trees, e-mail trees, news updates and passing on any information for teacher or staff pertaining to your particular class to other class parents (via emails, flyers, phone calls). Logistics: Gather needed supplies, volunteers, help set up field trips, etc. One team member per classroom should participate in monthly Family Association Meetings (the last Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00pm) and report back to class of upcoming events. Must have email and check it frequently. 3-5 hrs/month
Library Help Check Out: Being present while various classes visit the library and help with check out of books. 4 hrs/month
Reshelving:  Reshelving books once they  have been checked in.  This can happen any time (after school, lunch breaks) Variable
Data Entry:  Data Entry for book cataloging.  Can happen anytime. Variable
Recess Coordinator Recess Coordinator:  Coordinate volunteers for Recess/ Lunch supervision by:  providing Orientation for recess volunteers, being a liaison between staff and volunteers and reviewing Playground Policies with Volunteers. Finger Printing required 3 hrs/month
Recess/Lunch Supervision Volunteer to supervise the playground or the lunch room with ISM Staff, on a given day and shift.  Responsible for reviewing and understanding Playground Rules and working with staff for consistency of playground rules/behavior. Finger Printing required and attendance at a Playground Supervision Orientation. 3 hrs/month
New Family Mixer Chair:  Coordinate with ISM Staff on an event to welcome/orientate new families to ISM.  Chair would work on Agenda, Invitations, Buddy Families, refreshments, etc… 15 hrs
Back to School Night, August 31, 2006 Chair:  Coordinate with parent volunteers, ISM staff, and after school activity point people to ensure a informative evening. 6 hrs
Refreshment Coordinator for Back to School Night:  Working with Class Room Parents, assign various classes to bring needed refreshments, coordinate items as they are dropped off for the evening.  4 hrs
Set up/Cleanup:  Help to set tables and chairs, or help with break down after the event Lift 15 lbs 1-2 hrs
Information Packet Preparation:  Help to copy and assemble any needed information for the evening. 1-2 hrs
Halloween Carnival Chair:  Coordinate with all volunteers, staff and class room teachers on planning and executing the overall event. Organizational and managerial skills.  20 -30 hrs
Setup/Breakdown:  Help with setting up tables and needed supplies for the various game/food areas. Lift 15 lbs 1-2 hrs
Game Organizer:  Working with Chair to create and organize various games for the event Creativity working well within a limited budget. 10 hrs
Game Supervisor:  Working with Chair and Game Organizer to supervise the games on the day of the event, making sure the games have enough staff and needed supplies 6 hrs
Trick-0-Trunk Coordinator: Working with the Chair, organizing the Trick-O-Trunk participants, helping to generate participants and creating time lines and instructions for participants. 10 hrs
Trick-0-Trunk Participant:  Decorate your vehicle and compete in the "Most Festive" Halloween vehicle contest.  Arrive at school with your decorated vehicle, park on the lower playground and pass out goodies to the lower grades as they come Trick -O-Treating at your vehicle.  Bring your decorated vehicle to ISM for the Halloween Carnival 6 hrs
Refreshment Coordinator:  Work with class room parents to establish which class will bring which various refreshments or paper products.  Also being available to coordinate drop off of refreshments And set up of the food stations with parent volunteers. Ability to make a few flyers and coordinate with Chair and Room Parents. 5 hrs
Pumpkin Carving Contest Coordinator:  Work with Chair on the details of the Pumpkin Carving contest and establishing judges, categories and prizes. Ability to make a few flyers and coordinate with Chair and Room Parents. 3 hrs
Book Fair-Winter/Spring Co-Chairs:  Working together with Scholastic Representative and with Teaching staff to create and promoting a successful book fair while coordinating with ISM staff on facility needs. Organizational skills and knowledge of various books within different age groups. 20 hrs
Setup Book Displays:  Helping to set up book displays the afternoon before the book fair is to begin. Lifting of 15 lbs 3 hrs
Cashier:  Working the cashier station at the book fair which is open during school hours and the evening of December 14th. Flexible hours 1-6 hrs
Breakdown:  Breaking down the various book displays and packaging remain books for pick up.  This take place on the evening of December 14th after the Winter Concert. Lifting of 15 lbs 1-2 hrs
Winter Festival Chair or Co- Chairs:  Working with staff on the overall planning and execution of the event. Creativity and organizational skills. 20 hrs
Setup or Breakdown:  Help to set up chairs, decorations, tables, stages. Flexible hours Variable from 1-5 hrs
Performance Organizer:  Working with ISM staff and Chair/Co-Chairs on the various performances, coordinating timing with class room teachers, creating a written program and flow of events for the evening. Organizational and communication skills. 10 hrs
Station/Stage Supervisor:  Available the evening of December 14th and for a few pre-event meetings, making sure that performers are on time and that needed supplies are present. Organizational, operations and communication skills helpful. 6-8 hrs
Flyers and Signage:  Working with Chairs/Co-Chairs and ISM staff to create promotional flyers (to be distributed in students folders) and signage for the event. Ability to make flyers and signage 4 hrs
Refreshment Coordinator:  Work with class room parents to establish which class will bring which various refreshments or paper products.  Also being available to coordinate drop off of refreshments and set up of the food stations with parent volunteers. Ability to make a few flyers and coordinate with Chair and Room Parents. 5 hrs
Decorations Coordinator:  Working with Chair/Co-Chairs and parent volunteers to decorate the various staging areas and the Multipurpose room for a festive event.  Managing the ISM inventory of decorations Having fun and being creative.  Lifting of 15 lbs, climbing ladders. 15 hrs
Open House Chair/Co-Chair:  Working with ISM staff to coordinate advertising for event, compiling needed information packets and working with parent volunteers on set up and breakdown of event. Organizational skills 15 hrs
Refreshment Coordinator:  Coordinate refreshments for the event by making coffee and setting out cookies, replenishing as needed and breaking down. 2-3 hrs
Setup/Breakdown:  Help with setting up tables, chairs and needed supplies.  Lifting 15 lbs 2 hrs
ISM Representative/Guides:  Be available on 1/20/07 to talk with prospective families about ISM and offer tours of the campus. Knowledge of curriculum, ISM Mission, Family Fair Share, volunteering at ISM 2 hrs
Information Packet Prep:  be available to help assemble information packets, making needed copies and gathering needed supplies. Flexible 2-4 hrs
World Book Day Chair:  Coordinate with various authors/writers to come and read to the ISM classes and offer insight to writing.  Working with ISM staff and class room teachers on scheduling. Flexible 10 -12 hrs

Big Sur 5K Chair/Co-Chair:  Work with Monterey County Office of Education, ISM staff  and ISM community to gather the needed fees and applications, compile a spread sheet with ISM participants for the Big Sur 5 k and to submit in a timely manner. Flexible 15 hrs
Data Entry:  Working with Chair/Co-Chairs and ISM staff to enter all participants in a Spread sheet. Flexible 5 hrs
Package Coordination/Distribution:  Collecting the race packets and working with Chairs and parent volunteers to label and distribute all race packets to class rooms.   Flexible 3 hrs
International Festival Chair/Co Chair:  Coordinate with all volunteers, staff and class room teachers on planning and executing the overall event. Flexible 40 hrs
Game/Booth Organizer:  Working with Chair to create and organize various games for the event Flexible 10-15 hrs
